PCIe PCIe 2.0

So I know PCIe 2.0 is backwards compatible with PCIe. I am building a budget rig for a friend and I was wondering how much performance would be lost sticking a PCIe x16 2.0 card like a 4830 in a PCIe x16 slot. Its hard to find a decent cheap mobo with a 2.0 slot =\. Any other thoughts on this situation would be great.

If he was running a 4850 or 9800GTX or above I would get a PCIe 2.0 board.

Not a major loss maybe 4-5 FPS.

They run just fine...I am running an eVGA GTX 260 Core 216 SC Edition in a 2 year old motherboard with a PCI-E 1.0 slot...mine runs anything I have ever thrown at it smooth as silk

I can pull up around 15,000 on 3Dmark06 if I crank the clocks up on everything. Normal is a little over 14,000.
