PCIE x16 V.S PCIE 2.0 x16

ok i am thinking about geting a intel setup soon but all the boards in my budget are PCI-E x16 no 2.0 x16 at the moment i have a PCI-E 2.0x16 on my AMD build i was thinking if i get a PCI-E x16 will i have a decrease in preformance with my 3870 video card

From what I've heard, you won't. PCI-E x16 isn't a real bottleneck on todays single-GPU cards.

Yes there is!

PCI-E 2.0 x16 has twice the bandwidth of the previous standard PCI-E x16.

it really is alot better, but since we are still using less bandwidth then is limited by our pci-e x16 slots, the 2.0 isnt going to matter for some time. just like the switch from AGP to PCI-E, the difference is not exactly standing out yet.
