PCIvs. PCI-E

PCI is old, but still used for basic stuff like sound cards, LAN, whatnot...PCI-E is never, usually used for graphics cards, gigabyte LAN and other bandwith-hungry addon cards. These two are incompatible.
 
PCI-E is way faster than PCI and way more advanced!! PCI vid cards are rediculously slow. PCI is now mainly used for dial-up modems and expansion slots (Usb or network cards).
