PDF problem

I am having an issue when I view .pdf files. For some reason when I have a .pdf open my monitor will seem to go to sleep. I try turning it on and off but the only theing that works is restarting my computer. Some times it does it after viewing a .pdf for 20 seconds and the next time it is after 5 minutes. And it doesn't always do it either on every .pdf file. I have a farley new computer and it hasn't always done this. Just started maybe a week ago.

Not sure if this is useful but this is from Dxdiag

Good evening phillyphantom

If this is relatively recent behaviour, why not try a system restore, going back maybe ten days, to before when this started.

yeah, I am using adobe reader. I have it set to automatically update. Not sure if I ran an update or not right before this started.

Maybe I will give the system restore a try.

Adobe Reader is a hog and it's having constant security issues...

Alternatively, you can uninstall Adobe Reader (33.5 MB), download and install Foxit PDF Reader(3.5MB) from HERE.
It's a much smaller file to download and uses a lot less resources than Adobe Reader.
Note: When installing FoxitReader, make sure to UN-check any pre-checked toolbar, or other garbage.
On this page:

make sure, you have both boxes UN-checked AND (important!) click on Decline button
