Pear Linux 6 - USB Boot - Gateway W340UI

For the past few days I've been trying to install (or even get it running) Pear Linux 6 on my Gateway W340UI that I recently purchased.

I've tried using CD's & get the same result.
I used UNetBootin to put this on a flash drive & it always gets stuck when trying to load the operating system.
But it boots to the UNetBootin Loading Screen.

Anyone able to help me figure out why? I've tried so many different things, but I'm open to anything else you can offer. c:

This laptop is for my mum, so all the help is worthwhile.

Hello,
Have you tried installing Ubuntu from a USB flash? I know Pear is Based on Ubuntu, it might be worth trying to install that first, see how it goes and then try to install Pear.
Also, you might try to create, if possible, the LiveUSB image using the "official" tool: https://launchpad.net/usb-creator.
I have successfully installed a lot of Ubuntu's this way, never had head aches like the ones you described.

I've tried installing Ubuntu from a flash drive as well, it didn't work.
It got to the Select screen for Install or Live, then wouldn't load it.

It's a weird error I'm having. :\
Also, how do I get LiveUSB on Windows 7?

Do you have any error messages you can give us? Because just saying it doesn't work doesn't help in much in terms of debugging. I've used UnetBootin plenty of times with no issues, so not sure what is going on. Have you verified all the downloads are correct, ie verify the MD5 sums of the iso file? If you're not sure what I mean read this.

Unfortunately I get absolutely no error codes & I have verified the files, they seem to be correct.
