Peer 2 Peer Sharing software

Torrents arn't necessarily illegal, yes most are but not all of them! What i don't get is that everytime someone talks about p2p software, everone assumes they are using it illegally! Also Bit Torrent is trying to go legit. (whether it will happen though is a different story).

Which ways can you use p2p software and still be legal? If you download music, that is illegal. If you download movies, that is illegal. So tell me how it is legal to use a p2p software for anything.

If you mean P2P software such as Limewire, there really is no legal use. As for torrents, alot of companies offer them as download solutions because they dont rely on a central server to provide the file, instead you download from multiple computers that are seeding and leeching the file.

well you could use a P2P prog legally if all you dl is indy music (which is usually free). I've used Limewire to download movie and video game trailers also...

indy = independent
people who make music and just put it on the internet themselves. They don't have producers or stuff like that.

Defenitly Limewire at the moment. I havent had any problems with it slowing my system down, and I have never recived any spyware or viruses from it.
