as soon as i stick my hp crt monitor into my p2 the screen goes on standby i can not get it of any one have a clue do i need a older monitor

lol, duh, was doing many threads that time. Clearing the CMOS would indeed be the first option then.It'd be nice if the computer would display something....but then again, you could just look at the processor used and read labels (year made, how old parts are, number of RAM slots, manufacture dates of parts, etc.) to get an estimate of what you're dealing with.
