Pentium 5

Never. Intel has ditched the Pentium name, now there CPU's are called "Core" like the Core Duo, Core 2 Duo, and Core 2 Quad.
 
hmm i duno, that seems to be the name for their new laptop procs.
seems doubtful they'll make a pentium 5 though. especially with "pentium 4 ee" and such lol
cuz the architecture is slightly different i believe for EE procs

Right now laptops have the Core Duo, but the new processor (Conroe) is going to be called the Core 2 Duo, and the future (Kentsfield) will be called the Core 2 Quad.
 
They would never make a Pentium 5 in the first place, even though they are making other lines of processors, since pentium means five, its like calling a processor five five which sounds kinda dumb.
 
I do wish Intel and AMD had stuck to their original names..

A friend of mine who used to be into computers back when the 9700 Pro was the best graphics card around asked me when the Pentium 5 was coming out..

Usually it's a matter of personal preference since they all perform pretty similar, but as of July there isnt going to be anything from AMD thats better than the Core 2 Duo.
