Would i notice much of a difference if i overclocked a pentium d 805 @ 2.66GHz to 3.66GHz or higher? Would it be much faster? Better for gaming? Anywear near the performance of a Core 2 Duo?

You'll notice a speed increase, but a massive heat output increase also. It might be able to get close to Conroe standards.:)

I plan on getting a Zalman CNPS 9500 or 9700 to cool it. Plus is it ok to leave an overclocked cpu running all day? Or will it do it harm?

You probably will have to increase the voltage some. It won't get too close to Core 2 Duo standards unless it is closer to 3.9 or so. It is defined worth it, though.

I bet you will have to increase the voltage, for stability reasons.

And you will notice a big improvement in games and apps, but not in general use.

How much should i increase the voltage at a time?
How high can you get the voltage before the cpu is toast?

So if i get it up to around 3.9Ghz or so it will be near C2D standards a bit?

Depends on what clock speeds we're talking about for the C2D. Obviously, there's a difference between the e6300 and the x6800 stock.

Just increase the smallest amount at a time possible. You'll most likely run into temperature problems before you get your voltage too high, though you don't really want to get much above 1.5-1.6

Just waiting for some stuff i'm sellin on ebay to finish so i can get my CNPS 9700 and artic silver 5 to start overclocking.
