Hi there,
Can someone please explain the difference to me between a Pentium D processor 920 (2.8GHz) and Intel Core 2 Duo processor E6300 (1.86GHz)? Is one significantly better than the other? Please help because I am a total novice.
Thanks,
Danielle

Intel Core 2 Duo is Intel's new line of processors. Simply put, they are amazing. For WAY less you can get a processor that outperforms the AMD FX-62 (AMD's best proc.) in everything, including gaming. It is defintily the better option.

Pentium D is Intel's older line of dual core processors, they are good for multitasking but not for gaming.

Core 2 Duo is good at both and is by far a better processor.

I agree. Pentuim D is the old line of Intel. Even though it might be quicker (not by much, because it's older technology) i would get the Core 2 Duo because it has a better rating and it has more brains.
