Pentium M 390 at 2.26GHz

Guys I own a Toshiba L25-s119. It runs on Pentium M 370 1.5ghz.

I over clock the Pentium M 370 with a pin mod raising the FSB from 400mhz to 533mhz archiving a 33% performance gain.

My Toshiba was having trouble playing 720p video files so I upgraded the cpu to a Pentium M 390 and applied the same pin mod. The 390 is currently running at 2.26GHz. My toshiba can now run 720p videos with spare power left to do other things while the video is playing.

But the overclock does not seems to be staple. I get BSOD every now and than.

Prime95 test failed too.

I can't find the guild that I used to over clock the Pentium M anymore since its been along time.

Does anybody know how to fix this issue?

Helps appreciated.

that is correct... tried some different thermal compounds? a laptop cooling pad? they might be necessary

I am currently using arctic silver 5. And heat does seems to be the problem since my laptop will lockup after the processor run in 100% for a bit.

Is there anyway to check if the cpu is receiving enough power? It does not seems to be stable.

Are you sure it's a good idea to overclock to the point where it overheats? That'll probably kill the CPU over a few years.

I have got backups. Besides chances are everything else will die on me before my cpu so I am not worried. Also this laptop is only a backup.
