Performance estimation?

I'm due to upgrade from a Radeon 9200 to a GeForce 6600 soon, as well as gaining an extra Gigbyte of RAM, equalling 1536MB worth of 2700 RAM. The reason for the upgrade was to render my system eligable to play Battlefield 2. Has anyone got any estimates on how well my system will do with such a supposedly demanding game?

What is your processor speed. I have a 2.0ghz amd and a 9550 radeon and I play BF2 fine.

I play BF2 maxed 1024x768 and average 40FPS, but since I have 1GB of crappy RAM i have VERY long load times.

Around 3 minutes.... usually.

Well, I got my 6600 today. The game is excellent, looks cool, absolutely no lag, but the loading times are a bitch, well over 5 minutes, but it's the actual connecting to the server that's the wait. The loading is done in a flash. I guess that'll change with the 1GB of memory on the way .

I told ya them loading times are a bitch! But its true that the "sending client info" part takes the longest.

it takes me < 1 min everytime, and the longest portions are the network parts..

prolly a lot, loadin the os is a very hard drive intensive thing to do.

It takes you a minute? Is this multiplayer I assume. I never thought about it but I've not played it online. Still 1 minute seems soooo long.

I really dont think its my RAM either, it takes about 30-45 seconds to load the map, but then over 2 minutes to verify the client data. I have a very good internet connection (I am rarely over 90 ping) so i dont know the issue.
