Performance gain from pcie 1.0 to 2.0

I was joking.

Let's look at it this way, I have a 3850 which uses PCIe 2.0 technology. The 8800ultra uses PCIe 1.1 technology, will my card beat the 8800ultra?

It all depends on the card, and as of now no card uses up all the bandwith PCIe 1.1 has to offer so there really isn't that much of a performance gain, go ahead and get your graphics card.

PCIe 2.0 is suppose to give more performance, but all graphics cards on the market today will see little benefit from it

Wait 6 months till after that card comes out and buy yourself a whole damn computer, you'll be happier trust me.

The 3870x2, Two GPU's in one, doesn't even benefit from the increased bandwidth of 2.0. I'm going to be bold here and say the 9800gx2 will see no benefit as well.

PCI-E 2.0 isn't even fully used yet. It's made for the future. Most likely the GeForce 9's won't be able to fully benefit from it.
