For some reason, flash apps that require Adobe Flash Player 10 such as Playfish games on Facebook ("Who has the Biggest Brain?", "Word Challenge", "geo challenge", etc) are displaying very low frame rates and maxing CPU usage on one of the cores. Though my PC isn't high-end, I believe I shouldn't be having this issue. Here is some information on my system:
OS: Windows XP SP3
Browser: Firefox 3.0.4
Flash Plugin: Adobe Flash Player 10.0.12.36
CPU: Pentium D805 (2.66ghz)
Ram: Novatech 1gb ddr2 (dual-channel, 2x512)
Video Card: XFX GeForce 8600GT Fatal1ty Pro (1gb, ddr2)
I believe the reason why I'm experiencing low frame rates and high CPU usage is because Adobe Flash Player fails to activate hardware acceleration, thus relying on the CPU exclusively and ignoring the GPU. It could also be because my computer cannot keep up with the system requirements for those games. I have updated everything and even tried older graphic drivers in vain. I have looked for a solution everywhere but no one seems to be suffering from this same problem on Windows. Can someone please help me?
