Ive shared the printer for everyone in the house and its not given me any issues yet now i have an issue with something simple as getting a folder shared to my computer.

In the past ive been ruinning back and forth with a usb stick to copy files back and forth for back and that sort of reasons but i thought maybe i could just copy them directly to the folder on my dads computer.

after saying i want to share this folder i get a dialogue ive never seen before for "permissions" and it seems right...you dont want anynone that not allowed to look at a file in the real world to look at it so this must be the same however when i try to add myself it usually wont allow it. Im not a user on his computer but im on the same home networking...so whats the way i can add myself to the permissions without alot of trouble....i dont know how im supposed to do this...

You have to be logged in as an admin to modify permissions on shared folders, even if you are on a home network.
I believe that's the question you're asking...

He's trying to add a user from computer x to a the permissions list of computer y.

You have to create the user also on computer y (with the same password). And then add that user to the permission list. This isn't officially supported but it does work.
