Perpendicular Recording, is it worth it?

I am purchasing a new 320gb HDD for my comp and was browsing newegg when I found cheap perpendicular recording HDD. I read the reviews and it seems that they are slower then the older drives. I was wondering if they are worth getting if I only want a 320GB HDD. I read up on them and all I saw useful was that they can have bigger storage.

perpendicular recording is a lot more reliable, a reason why seagate barracuda 7200.10's have a 5yr warranty. I'm not sure how large longitudinal drives can get, but at larger sizes they are probably quite unstable or have a lot of issues. barracuda 7200.10 gives raptor a run for tis money. It is definetely faster than older drives, read and write speed.
