Phenom II reviews

No I don't have stock in Intel

But even if I had that doesn't change the fact that those reviews show that Phenom II failed to beat the 1 year old Core 2 quad.

So, you have to stop making it personal.

True, but it's priced more to compete with the Q9400, and it beats that in most tests. Pretty good results for AMD, though not earth-shattering as anticipated earlier.

No its the fact, that you go out of your way to bash AMD. It seems you have a personal beef about it.

After reading the reviews, I agree with you. The reviews are saying the Phenom II is a great processor and it's what the original Phenom should have been. You're statement that it performs worse then the Q9550 is unfair, as was stated before it is priced to compete with the Q9400. So unless the Q9550's price drops, then it is not in the same class.

We all know clock-for-clock that the Phenom isn't as good as Intel's Core's, but they are getting much closer.
 
As others have stated earlier, I am glad we have two companies that make processors. If we didn't, one company could control the prices and the quality. It's better we have two companies competing and moving the technology up and making computers better.

Real shame I was hoping for bit better results....least they got it right this time....maybe they will try their hardest to jump a head and get I7 performers out soon.

What people aren't noticing is how much better the new AMD processors are at managing power in comparison to intel. Performance per watt AMD blows Intel out of the water.
 
The Phenom 2 is probably good for the pricing it is at,but the problem is all the hype I have been hearing for 6 months now of how the Phenom 2 was going to decimate the intel brand like as in" twice the performance of nehalems"

It didnt even come close to panning out.With the I7 Amd is still a year or so behind in tech.

I am still glad there are 2 manufactures to keep the prices honest just like with 2 companies of graphics cards.

I dont have anything against Amd but the hype was kinda
the movie "Spaceballs" when it was released back in the day.Just a dissapointment I believe .

I wish Amd would do better
