Phenom II to ship dec. 27th

Very nice :D I wonder how they will OC.


I hear they are both BE editions as well so sounds promising.
 
i think just the 940 is unlocked, the official release hasn't even taken place yet, but i think its going to happen during ces(jan 8-11)
 
I can't find the review but I saw that all of the new ones will be unlocked...someone was saying "They sure stabbed Intel in the back with a screw driver" lol.
 
im sure its as far as the motherboard will go, what intrests me is how amd got rid of the coldbug in this generation, current phenoms coldbug at really high temperatures(-15*C) you can get current intel quads to boot around -130*C
 
I guess they did since Intel copied AMDs Monolith Quad design, Onboard Northbridge/Memory controller and Hypertransport and the L1/L2/L3 setup. Oh, but they did line the cores up in a row instead of putting them above each other, so it would not (look) like a complete design copy.

I realy hope the Phenom II brings good things for AMD,they have had so much bad luck since intel brought out the C2D line.

cant wait to see how these things overclock.
 
hmm well with those prices my next build should be wiht one of those babies. i think ill wait a little while though to see how they preform
 
Supposedly they fall somewhere between C2Q and i7s, though probably a lot more toward the C2Q end of things.

$300 is still a lot of money. =/ But it's understandable for their new flagship. Too bad I can't afford it with recent car issues...my new 9950 (Christmas present from my brother) is going to do nicely for $165.
