Phillips Monitor 107T - gaining issues

This CRT monitor is 10+ years old, and it really couldn't have been any better. Beautiful picuture, gentle on the eyes, very dependable. Really an ideal monitor no question about it.

But today when starting up, both sides of the picture started this inward cave, like on a curved mirror. Then later, when opening an excel document, and later closing, all excel icons on the desktop alone blacked-out.

Does this sound like the monitor and almost certainly not the vid card (GeForce 8800GT). My only complaint is that this is the worst possible time for me to be replacing it, for other reasons.

The only diagnosing you can do it either try a different monitor on your system or try this monitor on a different system and see if it still happens. 1 out of the 2 should give you good results and will tell you what you need to get.

A while ago it started also having a fixed white horizontal line across it. But that went away. Am trying to avoid buying a new one right now as you might have guessed.
