Phone on the PC?

I would like to be able to send and recieve phone calls on my computer, for free. How would I go about doing this?

Free? Use something like Google's VoIP system I guess, but that's not realyl a phone call.

Some service providers sell USB phones that you can use on your computer. But ther service is definetly not FREE.

I am talking about just hooking a phone line into my computer via a modem or something similar...is there any way?

I'm not exactly sure, but Skype to Skype calling is free I believe

Well I don't use skype and nobody else I know does...

Plenty of free PC to PC services, basically just VoIP like I said earlier. It's not going to be a phone call like you want.

As far as I know, a phone line is not going to work. It's analog to digital, I believe it's meant NOT to work like a standard telephone lol.

The only option I can think of are those USB cellphones.

For the rest of the year, Skype will also allow you to call regular phones for free. However, you can't receive calls from those phones, but can at least make them...
