Hi, i would like to know if it is possible to connect a phone line to my PC that would allow me to answer the phone and call from my PC? If not what software is there that would enable me to do so.

you are able to get software to do what you want but when you answer a call there tends to be alot of feedback and voices are slightly distorted I found its more annoying than it is usefull but if you still want to find one go to download.com you will find one there!

What exactly do you mean, do you want to answer using the speakers and a microphone/head set
or just with a phone connected to the machine
 
I mean just connect my phone line cable to modem and answer it though my computer using a headset or speaker/mic
 
I used to be able to use my computer to answer and make phone calls... But, I don't know how it worked because my computer wont do it now. :/

Anyhow, I used to use "Start/Programs/Accesories/Communication/Phone Dialer" to make and receive them. Give it a try...

I don't know if you have to have your phone hooked up to the PC in order for it to work or not.

Search google.com and download.com for how-to's and programs.


(I was thinking of using my PC to record phone conversations, because I'm seriosly running low on those little cassete tapes and, those vs. a CD or floppy.... it's easy to see what is a better medium.)
...Yeah I know the laws about recording a phone conversation and, yes it is legal in my state without consent. :D
