photoshop and videocards

i'm in the process of trying to decide on the notebook of my girl.
she does alot of photo editing for school in the adobe creative suite.
Mainly photoshop, indesign and illustrator.

How much influence has the video card on all this?
it could save her alot of money if she doesn't have to buy a good one

The video card can help rendering the image faster when you edit.

What is your budget?
I think Gateway P-7811FX @ bestbuy provide best value for money within that price range.

But the down side would be heavy as it is 17".

that's a really nice laptop.
but she's on quite a tight budget. has to be somewhere around €1000
the problem is i'd rather buy it at a local distributor here (netherlands)
and get a decent garantuee plan where she doesn't have to ship it over somewhere to get it fixed if it's broken.

So if you really want to advise a notebook. Please go with either hp or dell.
