I want to use this thread as a place for me, to ask how to do stuff in Photoshop, that I cant find when I search for it. Your also welcome to use this thread to ask any questions.

My question is, how do I take a full image, and make it semi transparent, to where, I can mount it over a full image, so you can see both.

Example: Take image A, and make it transparent, but still noticeable. Now take image B, and leave it how it is, which is normal/full. Apply image A, over image B.

Thanks.

ok
assuming you're on windows do the following :

take image A, go the the right pane where it says "layers", double click on it to unlock it.

it will ask you about layer ,just leave it as it is and click ok.

Now double click in the same place again and you will get "layer style".

under the "general blending" options, go to opacity and move the slider to your liking, then click ok.

now take image B, hold "ctrl" and move it over Image A, (both needs to be open).

cheers.

PS
If you can't move image B on A, go to "image"->"mode" and set it as "RGB color"

How would I make a banner, with text, but a transparent background. So it will post over the colors of the site?

Thanks.

i think it depend on the format you save your banner, i think PNG (correct me if am wrong) handles transparency
