i just started trying to learn photoshop, and my god is it fun! (and overwhelming)

i have been coding websites for years and have never known the design side of things, so instead of continuing to beg people to make graphics for me I figured it is time to learn it for myself. I have been doing a lot of step by step tutorials that i've found on Google, but they are quickly running out... the good ones anyways. I'm just looking for thorough lessons that assume little or no previous experience with the program, and emphasize using tools that are necessary for doing common tasks. i know there are a couple gurus on CF, what did you do when you first got started? if you are anything like me you felt extremely overwhelmed at first. i'm just trying to take it slow so i don't get pissed off with it and stop using it

it is an index of tutorial links so it may have a few dead ones but it has hundreds if not thousands of tuts.
 
I don't see anything fancy with Photoshop , been using it since version 5. Back then my bro came from Uni and brought a copy of 5 and Corel Draw 9.
Photoshop has improved in a lot of ways

that was years ago... don't remember a thing, small small graphics nothing big.
My bro was the know-it-all in PS, so i learned a bit from him
 
I taught myself with online tutorials and some books from the book store.

I had a Photoshop/Web Design phase last year, so I got a lot of books and watched a lot of tutorials.

I taught myself indesign a few months ago and I did so by watching adobe's learning videos on their web site.

I just do basic stuff but about 3 or 4 videos in I learned all I needed
 
I taught myself with online tutorials and friends showing me few tricks but you should be fine with online tutorials ... also you can try www.youtube.com and search there for videos.. They do have some good videos step by step.
 
I learnt by myself and also doing a bit at school in Multimedia, now that is fun :) We had a good time editting photos of friends, boy did we make some good pics :P

i made this today. basically i just used a custom brush i found, and clipart of a roo (i have a thing for kangaroos). this is the first thing i have made that isnt like staring directly into the sun so im pretty proud of it :D

I basically started to pixel art in MSPaint first before I got my hands on Photoshop. But once after that, I went ahead and did vexel drawings.

it wont be that simple for much longer though, im probably going to add a linkbar on the right and there are a lot of little things that im going to add in the center area. but thanks for the feedback ! i am pretty fond it it myself
