photoshop question

whats the best method to select something. i use the polygonal lasso tool but if i make a mistake i need to start over. is there an easier more precise way of making selections?

It depends on the selection you require, there are various methods like the, Lasso Tool, Magic Wand, Pen Tool, Rectangular Marquee Tool, Elliptical Marquee Tool and, as you say, the Polygonal Lasso Tool.

Its actually quite interesting because theres the magnetic lasso which goes around edges and then you can use the regular one and use the thing below the color picker (a circle with a dark background icon) to just use the paint brush and go over what you missed or didnt want. Use the white and black color to do those things.

you could always try adjusting the sensitivity of the magnetic selection tool. But honestly, I haven't found a good way to do it. I've been using PS for a couple years now, and I still have problems with that from time to time.
