I need to make a banner for my site, and I want to have it show just text, and no background for the text, only the sites background.

Would Ms Paint do this?
Or do I need CS2?

Thank You

There are tons of free programs between MSPaint and Photoshop. Have you looked at Gimp? It's basically a free version of Photoshop.

CS2??? To make a banner, yeah, go ahead and shell out $600. Just get Elem 5.0. I have used Paint to make some beautiful things

Download the free trial of Macromedia Fireworks, Thats what it's made for!

It's a vector based drawing program, so it's made for creating banners and the like. It's a fantastic program!

Thanks Kornowski.
Its a free trial?

And Thank the rest of you.

Ill download it tomorrow, I am off to bed, I just got the final almost ready updates done to the site.

I have a substitute banner now.
It can do until I make a good banner.

I downloaded the trial.
Set the page to 282x32, transparent.

Typed what I wanted.

Saved it as a .Jpeg and a Fireworks .PNG and both of them came out the right size, but a white background, around the words.

I need it to be just the words, and go over the background.

Thanks
