I need the backgrounds taken out of these pictures, basically just want the person and their respective sports equipment. I'm about as artistic as a wombat so finding it an ordeal myself.

cheers in advance :)

yeah, what i actually want is to use the pics to create a banner, so im going to be reducing the size down to a height of 100 pixels and then use photoshop to add them to a banner...

If i can work out how to do it that is :P

gonna do it now just had to take my GF home :)

Edit :this is not why i took my GF home ;) ( i dont like PS that much :D :D)

lol, cheers, i'm planning to then resize the images to a height of 100 pixels and then put them onto a black banner measuring 100 X 757, sort of partially overlapping each other to create part of a banner.

Just so you know what im doing and if it means you need to change the way you do something :)

the ones you asked for
dont know if its what you want but do tell me if its not :)

Edit : just noticed a few patches i missed :mad:
but there in the white space so you should just be able to paint over them ?

haha, good choice, much as i want him on my banner I think the rest of the forum guys would lynch me if i added him :D

So if i now want to put these onto a banner I need to make the white background area see through in photoshop, how would i go about doing that so that just the person can be transposed onto the banner segment?

if you use the magic wand tool (looks like a stic with an * on the top you should be able to select the white then i think if you press delete the should go away (maybe)

see if that works and if it doesn't then ask again XD :P

it selects the area ok but it doesnt actually delete it and make it see through, it just tries to turn it to white again....

ok try this get the background you want it on already open in PS in another PS window

select the white then do Ctrl + shift + i to select inverse then select the aroow tool and click on the selected area (now the person) and drag it on to the banner layer

if its then too big do Ctrl +T for free transform ( if you hold Shift when resizing it the aspect will stay the same )

again if that doesnt work ask again ;)

nope its having none of it, inverting wont work because on some of the pictures not all of the background is selected by the magic wand....

I really need practice on photoshop!

thats the banner i want it to appear on, preferably i want the people to overlap a little as i think the effect would look better.

However the other solution i suppose would be to make the backgrounds of the pictures black and then transpose them over in line with each other.....

and i thought this was all simple!

sure thing mate

cant go out tonight any ways so i may as well help out :)

be sure to post up the finished article so i can see it :)

thats where i'm at with it, could be tidier and such but will do for now, much better than the generic banner that was put there..

The magnetic Lasso tool can get a bit closer, too.

If you just try to erase the background, it can be time consuming, and it can leave a little bit of a fuzz or "aura".
