Phyiscal Memory dump

Morning all!
I've had this blue error message a few times.
The pc does a phyiscal memory dump. In the
text it says to disable BIOS shadowing /caching that
this may resolve the problem. I have looked in
my BIOS settings and have not found these items.
I only get this blue screen after I have browsed
on one certain site for awhile-the window and mouse
freeze momentarily and the blue screen appears.
Because it said memory-I opened the box and
re-seated the memory, but I stll recieve the blue
screen occasionally. I have not switched the 2 sticks
around tho-put A into B and visa versa.

Other little quirks-error message-Explorer.exe not
responding during shutdown process-SP1 was
suppose to fix this issue, but I find no SP1 on
the pc. SP 2 & 3 yes. Do I need to install SP1?

I do have some old hardware-such as the video card.
But I have downloaded the latest drivers for the card.
I have also updated the drivers for my motherboard
from their website.
I have done checkdisk-no problems, did disk clean up,
ran Spybot-which found "DSO exploits", had S&D fix the
problems-but had to later edit a registry value because
of a known bug in the S&D program for DSO eploits.
Ran Panda-found nothing,
Ran Ad-aware-deleted cookies, defragged both drives.
Update with Microsoft updates-custom
Any suggestions as to what I can do/try next?

By reading some other people issues in this forum. I have learned that there is no SP3-which is really an Office update. Someone I spoke with told me that SP1 is not needed as long as I have SP2 on the machine. Is that true?

But as far as the "Explorer.exe" not responding and "Connections Tray" not responding issues, I have continued to observe the error messages and
found that after I play an offline game for a couple hours and try to shut the pc off quickly, that's when I get the "exporer.exe and connections tray" error messages. I did a test, I closed the game out normally, then waited a few minutes with the desktop up and then shut down the pc. Wha La! No "explorer.exe or connections tray" errors. Yeah!!!!

I guess I have to be patient and let the system recognize it's not playing games anymore? A really dumb question here-If a game has been purchased & downloaded and doesn't need a cd rom to play compared to a game that has to have the cd rom in the drive to play-does that affect memory issues?
Do these games "write" to the hard drive? Both games are compatible with XP Pro.
This sounds like a question for the hard drive/memory section-but it concerns the OS too. Can anyone help with my answers or direct me to some reading?
 
SP2 installs all the fixes the came with SP1, so no, you don't need to install SP1. You say this problem is specific to one particular website?

It happens mostly on secured websites, but it has also happened when I read forum postings. Maybe the browser falls asleep? (just kidding) Sure liked to know how to fix this "blue screen." So reminiscent of Win98. Not sure what to do next...
 
Could you use the "quote" button? It would be a little less confusing.

I reccommend downloading and runningn memtest86+ just to be sure your memory is alright. I'm thinking this is a driver-related issue, but the problem seems complex... you've already scanned for normal malware issues...

Sorry, thinking out loud, I do that sometimes.

Have you tried a repair install of Win?
