On the 101 there is a blacklist.
It says to stay away and not to buy the following MOBO's.
AOpen----BIOSTAR----Intel----ASRock----ECS----PCChips
The 101 stated that these brands are made w/ cheap parts.
Are they really that bad..........................................

Now my original pick is Foxconn and if it passes this test, I'll stick with it.

PICK ONE FROM BELOW ?
They all have DDR2 800 Memory Standard.

Your whole system is based on the motherboard. If you are willing to start with cheap parts you will wind up with.......

with my Gigabyte I have prolly a year at least before something major developes to get me to update, and I will be a good scout and be prepared. Think it over

So I'm sure my new build, (cheap dual core) will be great.
What do you think.
Will I notice a difference from my current 99 DELL P4, 1.7ghz
Towards my new dual core build
Let me know

Pick one of the ABOVE ......

Can you pick just one MOBO of all the ones listed ?

Guys help.
If this GIGABYTE is better than all the MOBO's listed above, I will buy it.
I need to make my final decision on the MOBO already.

Is this GIGABYTE really better, & not because of the brand, but by features ?

MSI and Gigabyte are both good companies for mother boards. If you can afford them go for one of those too. I have never personally dealt with gigabyte, but have heard good things. On the other hand I have used MSI with a few different mother boards and I can say from experience they are good.

When looking at the boards up close the MSI will let you use 4 PATA devices and 2 SATA at 1.5 and the gigabyte has 2 SATA at 3.0 but only 2 PATA devices. I don't know how many PATA vs SATA devices you are bringing from your old dell but you might want to keep that in mind.
