they seem the same on the specs except for the timing, the corsair is 8-8-8-24 and the patriot is 9-9-9-24. i would like to know the difference between 8-8-8-24 and 9-9-9-24 and why theres is such a big price difference, is it really that much of a difference?

thanks in advance

The differences aren't that big except for the CAS Latency.

The Corsair Dominator RAM is at 8 and the Patriot Viper is at 9.

If you didn't know about CAS Latency, its:
the delay time which elapses between the moment a memory controller tells the memory module to access a particular column in a selected row, and the moment the data from the given array location is available on the module's output pins.

Plus: The Corsair Dominator RAM is Compatible with Intel Core i7 series CPU for Intel X58 Motherboard.

so are u saying the patriot isnt compatible with x58?

so is 8 and 9 really that much of a difference

8 and 9 isn't really much of a difference. It won't really matter all that mush.

Nevermind about the compatibility. Both sets are compatible with the x58.
