hi all

ive put pics from camera onto pc then burnt them onto disc (cd+dvd)thinking i could view them on a dvd player...but i cant?????

do i need a different software to do this or do i need to change the format of the pics before i burn them to disc and which disc do i need to use???????

any help would be much appreciated.....:) :) :) :) :)

If you used a CD to burn the pictures to, your DVD player may not be able to read CD's. Mine can't. If you can burn a DVD, try that. But if you did burn it to a DVD the first time then I would check if the pictures are in the .jpg/.jpeg format.

jpeg's a still spinoff of mpeg1, dvd players play mpeg-2

unless your dvd player is equipped with a jpeg decoder, you'll need to author the pictures as a slideshow, and burn them to dvd compliant standards

some newer players have jpeg/mpeg1/divx/mpeg4 decoders in them, so they can play image/video files, but otherwise, you need to record the pictures as an actual dvd, not just a dvd-rom

Download the freeware irfanview from this site:

http://irfanview.com/

Click on File in the menu. Click on slideshow.
Slect files of your choice. Select time advancement time.
On the right hand side, you have an option "Burn to CD".
Try the normal slideshow on monitor if it works they way you need
before burning to CD.

I have used it for CD, it played well. You can also try for DVD.
