PING, PLZ can any1 help

I have a server and a couple of pc`s on my network.
when i played battlefield 2 on the internet on my pc before it was on the network the ping was about 20-30.

Now that i have a server with the internet running through it & my computer networked to the server, the ping is at 130+.

Everything else is working ok and it downloads fine, it`s just the ping.

Is it possible to download a ping tool of some sort.
Or upgrading my server, would that help ??

Pentium 3 (333mhz)
128mb sdr ram
2x 6.5GB HDDS PATA
64mb ATi Graphics card
3x PCI LAN cards 10/100
O/S Windows xp Home

Why create a server? For business? I would recomend just netowrking the computers and using a router... If you have many computers use switches...

Are the pci lan cards new in the 333?

the server holds info and will be used for storage later, also i have 2 printers on the network witch i want the pc`s to use..?!?

im not to sure on the spec of the lan cards & the router in usb only.
