Pioneer DVR109 problem

I recently installed a DVR109 in my sisters HP Pavilion 462.uk computer but it will not burn DVDs or CDs. I tried brand new Nero software and DVDsanta but it does 'Lead in' then as soon as it tries to burn I get error 'communication error'. I tried using cable from my Pavilion 471.uk computer still no go. Took DVR109 out of her computer tried it in mine & it works ok.
Her computer recognises DVR109 and has same driver as mine.
 
Could be her IDE channel not set to dma it could be on PIO mode. Go to device manager then to IDE controller then to secondary IDE channel click on advance settings it should be on DMA mode.
 
PIO would give you serious underrun issues not communication ones (well it shouldnt) :P

well heck .... you might as well check the mounting screws also :)
