Ok, I am planning on buying some new parts for my PC sometime before the end of this summer (or as soon as I have the $$$). Naturally, I wanted you guys to look over this list and make comments (good or bad, doesnt matter). Ok, here is a list of the parts I want to buy:

AMD X2 4200+ Dual core

Asus A8N- SLI Deluxe 939 mobo

XFX GeForce 7800GT 256 mb. PCI-E SLI ready (planning on another sometime)

COOLMAX "SLI" CXI-500B 500 watt PSU

First off, it would be a better choice to pick a motherboard that nativly supports the AMD X2 series without the need to flash the BIOS (if they even have a new BIOS that supports X2), i would look for a new mobo.

That video card looks good, but you can get a 7800GT for under $300.

I would go with this power supply: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817103931, the one you picked out is good, but this has more amps, more watts, and is a better brand.

Can you make a suggestion?? Make sure its SLI capable.

I've heard good things about XFX so I think I will stick with that card. $309 isnt that bad anyway.

Yeah I think you're right there. I'll look into it.

Well eVGA has this warrenty (so ive read), and no matter what you do to the card, if its damaged the'll take it back and issue a refund. Expcet nothing physical. Ant that card is nice, just wanted to let you know about other options :)

Ooooh they are both really nice and really close in price, this is gonna be a tough one. I dont plan on OC'ing much since I dont know how well X2's can OC, but I will have to debate between those two boards... I was also thinking e-baying my 3000+, X700, and my 1GB of RAM to fund getting 2GB of OZC Gold RAM, which would be two of this set:

You may want to look into 2 X 1 Gb though because otherwise you have to run 2T.

Have you considered getting a DFI lanparty board?

Wow thats a really great deal on the ram, they look excellent!

I know, redrider has 2GB of it and he loves it, so I want some too! :D And I thought it would be more expensive than that, the toal is like $280 for 2GB of that stuff! Not bad at all.

Yeah I've looked at them but Im really not sure, are they anything special??

The only DFI LanParty's for his CPU cost over $196.

Is their something wrong with flashing an ultra-D to a newer BIOS? It will still boot up but it wont detect the second core until you flash.

Besides the new revision ultra-Ds run X2s out of the box.

No thanks, thats a little over my budget there, I'm debating between the Gigabyte and the Abit...
I'd go with the ABIT, whats do you see in the Gigabyte thats not in the ABIT?

Yeah thats what Im trying to find... I'll look at the stats again between the two and decide. I really like them both though.

EDIT- Yeah I think I will go with the ABIT K8N, its looks to be a really good one

Good choice, and if you want to overclock im sure its a better oc'er than the Gigabyte.

BTW, are you going to get this before next weekend?

Oh hell no, I still need another like $300 or so... might be a few months, just looking ahead to the future. But, I will have my 2 new airsoft guns by next weekend lol

After much solemn consideration, I have decided on the new parts I am going to buy. My parents may lend me the rest of the money I need by the end of this week, so it will indeed be very soon. I need a new mobo, graphics card, processor, PSU, and more RAM. Tell me your opinions on this setup:

AMD Athlon X2 3800+
http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?item=N82E16819103562

ATI Radeon X1900XT 512 mb.
http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?item=N82E16814195002

1 GB Corsair Value Select DDR400
http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?item=N82E16820145440

Asus A8R-MVP Crossfire mobo
http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?item=N82E16813131584

Rosewill RP550 550 Watt PSU (has 35 amps on the 12v)
http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?item=N82E16817182010

whats your budget?
you have a very nice GPU but you sacrificed a lot just to get it(like the CPU and RAM). it would be better to get a better CPU and RAM. and crossfire isnt too great right now. lots of bugs and stuff ATI still has figure out.
