please activate windows ??

i downloaded the windows 7 home premium iso from this site to install on my laptop.



i used the iso to do a clean install because the laptop came loaded with crapware. ne-ways, it worked fine for about a month, but now the laptop says windows is not activated. when i go to the activation page, it says the key is invalid. i used the key that came with the laptop originally.
what gives?

The key is tied to the custom vendor OS. You can't use that key with a vanilla ISO. You'll have to reinstall the factory OS or purchase a new copy of Windows. You can try calling MS but I imagine they'll tell you the same thing.

i see what you mean, but it didn't make sense at first. when i installed the os, i actually activated it right away because i was using the laptop for work. but now it's not activated. oh well...

You can try calling the MS activation hotline. Sometimes they'll activate under circumstances such as this. Attempt to activate within the OS and select the "call microsoft" option.

Be careful with them though, they may not take too lightly to you downloading the software, even if you did pay for the computer

Yep, Micro$oft is dangerous with WPA. Once they put something on my system that wouldn't go away that said that my installation wasn't genuine, even though I ordered directly from them.

Hello, I think you have been given cheated. If you call microsoft, they might be able to validate the key on the ground that you paid for the software but was cheated. They do this regularly. So, dont worry, they might ask you for some kind of evidence so provide all the payment details. Good luck!
