I am attempting to install a second HD in my dimension 4600. I already have an 80 gig HD which came with the computer. My current HD is ST-380011A (Barracuda 7200.7 80, Ultra ATA/100).

I would like to know if this (Seagate ST3250623A-RK Barracuda 250 GB Ultra ATA/100 Internal Hard Drive) drive will fit and whether or not the new drive will cause any conflicts; as well as any advice on the reliability of this HD.

Thanks in advance

I don't see why you'd have any problems... I've installed a few hard drives in those machines, they should have plenty of space for upgrades. Just take note of the settings on the current HD. If I'm not mistaking, the ones I worked on used cable select and not the more common master/slave IDE settings. Also, be sure you're running the latest service packs. Otherwise you'll be limited to 127GB partitions.
