I have been weighing my options on building or buying and at the suggestions of some of you on here, I was playing around on newegg and came up with the following:
Case and Windows:

Power supply and memory:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.543330
Motherboard:

CPU:

Hard Drive:

DVD Drive:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827135204
Video card:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150501
Total: $1008 - $30 MIR
I am not really up to date on specific brands or models or even all of the specs, but I just went through and picked things according specs I am aware of, along with price and ratings. So feel free to make any other suggestions. I did notice the i7-950 is only $15 more (and realize I would need a different motherboard), but are there any disadvantages to it? Should I go that route? I am totally open to any other recommendations. I am choosing Intel here mainly because I have always had Intel machines. My budget is around $1000, but if I can get something that will suit my needs for a lot less, I wouldn't mind going that route. I do not play games, and the most intensive thing I would use this for would be photoshop and also will start manipulating video files taken from an HD camcorder.
