Please give opinions on this build

I'm planning to build my computer using these parts. Please give me any suggestions. I want it to be a pretty high-end desktop and I do play all the newest games on their highest settings. I also burn a lot of DVDs. So how does this set-up look? I plan on going shopping later today, so please help out. I'm going to run Windows 7 Ultimate, by the way.

If there is no budget, I would say it is plain silly to spend a massive amount on a system, as give it 6 months and it will be outdated, but it is your money, so starting from the ground up (assuming you mean literally no budget):

You can improve further, but it would make the system even more ridiculous.

You could build a system for a third of the price that will perform as well in games and burn DVDs just as quickly, and upgrade as you go. You will have a better system for much, much longer than putting that much money into a system that a year down the line will be outdated
 
Okay. That was a little too much. I do agree with what you said about the technology becoming outdated. I listed those parts and I forgot to mention that I'm going to be using the GeForce GTX 260. The reason for that is because I bought that fairly recently. I will upgrade that further down the road. I also want my computer to be upgradeable in the future.
1. How does my build above look though?
2. How is that motherboard? I'm going to use it with that i7 CPU I listed.

CPU: A 980x is massive overkill, for gaming a 950 would perform amazingly, yet cost less than a third of the price:

Motherboard: You can spend slightly less, or you can spend a lot less to get a board that has the same features and will perform just as well, yet cost less:

PSU: With the 260, you don't need a 750W power supply, however, as you say that you are going to upgrade, get above what you need, so you have that headroom. But bare in mind even a multi-GPU card won't need a 750W power supply, you only need that much if you are running 2 high end video cards, with a good few hard drives, and overclocking. Looking at the prices though, with rebate, I wouldn't change the unit, it is a great deal. If you were to change it,

as it is a higher quality unit. Corsair make good units, but Seasonic make very, very good units. The Corsair unit is actually seasonic made, but isn't as high quality a unit as the one I just posted.

Hard Drive: I would spend more here, as I would get an SSD. They are expensive for the price, but worth it. You only need a small one, because you will only be putting your operating system, a few programs that you use often and games on there, because it improves boot times and load times dramatically:

Memory: The amount for your board is right, but the speed, I'm not crazy on. You won't notice a heck of a lot of difference between 1600MHz and 2000MHz unless you are benchmarking, but you can save a good $30 by going to the lower speed:

notice too that the timings are lower on those too, so the speed difference will be even less (lower = better).

Finally, you mentioned you are going to be using 7 Ultimate. Unless you have already bought it, stop right there and don't buy it. There is no reason to get Ultimate over Home Premium, the "extras" aren't worth it, they make no difference to a home user or gamer

That will perform just as well with everything that you need it for, yet will save you hundreds of dollars over the build you had at first
