Please help answer my Memory question

Im looking for a new computer because the one i have now doesnt have enough memory to hold even half of the music i love (i love too much music)
and so i was mainly wondering how much memory i should have...im not sure what i have now. Maybe someone could tell me what i need for lets say 30 gigs worth of music...would i need 3GB DDR2...and if thats not totally in the right direction, could someone please help?
 
How much RAM you have wont really make a difference when you are just playing music.

You don't need a whole new computer. You can just get a second hard drive. If you have space issues in your tower or you have a laptop, you can get a USB external hard drive. It's plenty fast for music files and not too expensive.
 
For most users I would say 2GB of RAM is enough. If you play games and what not and are using Vista you might want to get 4GB.
