please help?avi shrink

hi there
i need some help please..it seems most ppl are great with computers on this site.. very impressive!!
i d/l a movie 706 mb (avi) .. and i want to burn it (using nero)as a data file on a regular disk.. but the file is too big
what should i do? how can i shrink it?

any help or advice is really appreciated

i don't think you'll get much help with this as what you've done is illegal

Download Nero Recode 2 plugin and if a video file wont fit on a blank dvd nero will make it fit...it will tell you that the file is too big and give you the option to burn it in dvd-5 vs dvd-9 format.

How do you know it's a copyright protected movie? It could be a video of his family that Uncle Fester uploaded to him for all you know!

you can use this http://mediacoder.sourceforge.net/download.htm to re-encode the video. you could even make a VCD or VOB.
