ok well are you gonna put Windows 98 back on the system, because in that case the reponse you will get would be different than if you were to put Windows XP on the system
well first of all you need a windows 98 boot disk on a floppy, and you will need a Windows 98 cd, this is unless you have windows 98 plus, which will boot from the cd by itself, so assuming that you just have basic windows 98 you will wana start it up and boot from floppy with windows 98 cd option, then type "fdisk" and follow the directions, this is to format, and allocate your hard drive to whatever sizes you will be using, also known as formating, then you will be prompted to restart, after you do so, you will want to type "format C:" or any other partitions you may have made ( to keep it basic in the fdisk, just make one partition i.e. C: ) then i think you may have to restart ( its been a while ) either way, after formating you want to switch over to your cd drive by typing the letter of the drive followed by a collon, ( D: ) once you are under this drive you type "setup" and then windows 98 GUI installer will take over from there....
