I accidentally deleted a .reg file.

It was some sort of key that ran Kaspersky and now kaspersky is asking me for a new key because my membership has expired. This is a family computer and I have no idea how to fix the problem, we paid for the product and now can't use it. HELP!

This is really urgent.

Is there a way I can get the .reg back I really don't wanna screw up our anti virus we paid for! :(

HELP!

First you need a Welcome to the Computer Forum! http://www.computerforum.com/70672-official-welcome-thread.html and the usual reminder to new members to review the http://www.computerforum.com/52038-forum-rules.html

The problem there is a need to reinstall the software in order to restore the missing value in the registry. Without knowing how to create a replacement you would have to work out reactivation with their tech support since you have already paid the retail price. If you bought it as a prepackaged software and have the original product number it should remember it was already activated if you saved the code usually sent by email. For a download you would have to go directly to them for this.

i'm not trying to get a free reg key, i'm a 14 yr old kid who screwed up trying to get another program for free, i used trial-reset and searched for armadillo's and deleted what was there.

We can't help you... If you erased your reg key, than contact kaspersky. They should still have your information on file and should be able to give you another key or something.

But theres no way I can undelete it? I read that nothing gets deleted straight away. I have tried for hours to use programs to undelete it but to no prevail. Any more advice at all? Should I be getting my parents to contact them or..?

Who installed the software? Not you that's obvious. That person will know if the software was bought retail with a software cd or downloaded and registered online. That's also the person that have to see this corrected.
