Okay so Ive got a really fast broadband provider but I had to tone down my signal because my dvd player couldnt handle that high of a signal. Well, I also play online videogames and i cant get good enough signal in my gaming room without killing my dvd player. What to do?

I take it you mean signal strength? Very odd situation that your DVD is that sensitive and actually fails.
However, physical location of router plays a big roll in evening out what locations get more signal. You can play with the position of antennas or direction of unit itself. Either to weaken for DVD or strengthen for game room. Some fiddling will need to be done. Also, you can find where the DVD atntenna is and try to sheild it somewhat.
Keep in mind the lowest signal strength that works in all your locations is all you need. The more range you have the less secure you network is.

Are you talking about wireless or wired here? I can't see a reason why/how online gaming would interfere with the DVD player's connection. I run 15Mbs at my house and I can game on my 360, stream music, and browse the web without much of a slowdown.
