Please Help Maxtor basic 500gb Not in my computer

hi first thing i'd like to say is thanks in advance for anyone that trys to help out i've being spending about 5 hours today still have the problem

yesterday i backed up all my files to my hd to reboot my computer now when i put it back in, first it kept freezing when i tryed to look at files or copy them now its is not being recozied in my computer just in printers and devices sometimes comes disk (f)but cant be access and comes up need to be formated which i cant do as need data on the device also the device is making a loud noise like the disk is being spin around so fast and the light is just flashing when should be solid any help would be greatful i tryed recovery software but it will not work on the disk (f) :-( i have windows 7
cant belive it and i cant send it to a disk recover place as have some private files and all my life is on that the last 10 years its a heart breaker

I can't advise anything on a fix, but if i had 10yrs of irreplaceable on a drive that wasn't working and making noise, I wouldn't let it power up and I'd take it to a shop to see what my alternatives were.

What types of recovery programs did you use? You may want to give File Scavenger a try if you already have not.

i have tryed alot about 6 and just tryed that one you said and when i put it to (g) it crashes the program lol i might try the freezer option tomorrow put it in the freeer for 1 hour then try thats what i hear on other forum
 
I find what you are saying a bit unclear. Apparently you backed all your files to an HDD. Was that HDD an internal storage drive ? You say : "Now when I put it back in", Are you saying that you had the drive that you backed up to in an external enclosure, and now you have reinstalled it internally ? Anyway some mobos require that you "Clear the bios" whenever there is a hardware change; and from what you have said this might be the case. I don't know.
