please help me!!!!? AGP card not working ?!?

I recently bought a new motherboard, processor and RAM (P4 3.2ghz, 512mb DDR.) I installed everything (drivers etc) and it all worked fine , i put in my old AGP geforce 4800ti graphics card, and when i turned the computer on, everything comes on (HDD's, fans etc) for about 2-3 seconds and then shuts off completely, if i try turning it on again it lasts about 0.5 seconds before shutting off. I have installed all AGP drivers and set the bios to AGP and still nothing happens.

help would be appreciated!

sorry, i forgot to mention that the graphics card does work in my other computer. so the card isnt dead

Maybe your PSU isn't strong enough.

i have tried three psu's all do the same thing (one 300 watt, one 350 and one 450)

i think something is overheating... touch the chipset and see if it's hot

the cpu heatsink is warm, another heatsink next to the cpu is quite hot, and another little tiny heatsink is cold

problem solved!!

i have solved the problem, i found an old 550 watt psu kicking around and my computer is now stable with the graphics installed!
