Dell UltraSharp U2311H 23" or HP ZR22w 21.5-inch S-IPS LCD Monitor

(HP) much more expensive + slightly smaller.
(Dell) Cheaper + wider.

Both within Budget.
Monitor use for Graphics & CAD modelling, rendering. :)
Please do advice which is a better product to purchase, as i don't really see any big difference with the two.:)

THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP :D

I used an UltraSharp at work and the picture was amazing, noticeably different than other monitors. Having said that I have no experience with the HP. I do a lot of CAD work, and generally find that the bigger the screen the better/easier it is to work.

Hope that helps, Doug.

@ Mihir,

Thanks for the feedback Mihir :D
Hmm if this is the case with Dell's i need to check if HP's have this issue either, i google an article saying that almost all LCDs suffer at least a small amount of backlight bleed because the opacity of LCD panels, but i wouldn't want my monitor with such symptom.
So did your warranty with Dell manage to replace the old with a new one ?

@ dug,

Thanks for the feedback dug. :D
It's good to hear that Dell's monitor works well for you.
Did you happen to experience any bleeding issues as mentioned by Mihir?

I did not buy the monitor because I discovered there was a bleeding issue.
The monitor in the LAB computer has an HP monitor which is a P-VA panel and I must say the monitor is beyond amazing,never had any experience with the one you posted but was considering the same when I was out for a monitor but since it was expensive in India, so did not go for it.

The monitor I posted is also amazing

And not that heavy on your pocket either and NEC makes really awesome panels. :D

No, but I'm not sure what model it was I was using. I was just referring to various UltraSharp monitors around the office.

@Mihir,

I see, i don't think i can get a NEC here, not too sure...
Nevertheless i shall keep my option open, and maybe explore more.
Thanks for the suggestion Mihir. :)

@Dug,
I see i see,
No problem Doug, Thanks for the feedback too :)

- Have a nice day people ! -

I just went from a widescreen 22" HP monitor to a 1707FPt Ultrasharp monitor.
I would go with the Ultrasharp, the quality is much better, especially the color, plus the monitor itself juts looks amazing!
