Please HELP ME, New comp possible virus??

Hi I bought a brand new computer and promised myself I would be very careful protecting it from spyware/viruses etc. because my last one is like a warzone. I mean its pretty bad, I'm afraid to turn on my old one because I think it has become self aware. Anyway, I've been very careful with my new computer and even did some research to find out what the best protection for it was and I'm using ZoneAlarm Security Suite (Firewall + Anti-Virus + Anti-Spyware). I'm happy with it I guess, but in the last couple of days it has blocked 159 intrusion attempts and I'm not sure if thats normal... 159 attempts? Thats scary... anywho, my computer is beginning to act strange and I'm not sure why. When I start up XP and login it freezes for about 15 seconds and I can't do anything, I click on a bunch of stuff and NOTHING happens. Then all of a sudden it all pops up. Everything I clicked on pops up all of a sudden and I'm like what the... What was that all about? Also I'll be playing a game or something then all of a sudden the game gets minimized for no reason... I'm like ok... and I go back in it and nothing is wrong. Also some games that have worked fine in the past now take FOREVER to start up... even when I click on like say a demo I downloaded it takes forever to start the install process. Once I get into games and programs everything works fine but its just every now and then something wierd happens. Also the 159 intrustion attemps has got me worried... is there really that many people trying to hack into my computer?
 
Download HiJackThis, and post your log. :)

It's normal for ZoneAlarm to prevent "intrusion attempts" like that... I've saw huge numbers on several different computers that were safe.
