hello,
I hope someone can help me with my problem as I know very little about technical issues.
I seem to have damaged my old desktop PC but I really need the work related data stored on the hard disk. Is it possible to easily copy data from this internal desktop hard disk to a laptop hard disk.
The desktop no longer boots up (blank screen) but does make a series of 3 beeps when I power on (unfortunately I have no idea what bios the PC was using so I cant easily check what the beeps are warning me about).
I dont want to take the hard disk to a shop to recover to CD/DVD as the work data is sensitive information that should only be viewed by employees. I should also say I dont have access to another desktop at the moment so I cant simply install the old disk as a slave.
Any info on the best way to recover these files to a laptop would be greatly appreciated.
Regards
Ollie
