Please help me with my 8800!

Ok well my 8800 was out of use for a while and somewhere between then and now a cap broke off of it. Which literally made me cry and go crazy and i still am. I paid too much for the card when it came out and it was a rock solid performer. Its like, having a really awsome girlfriend that gives you the best sex ever and then she leaves you for some rich guy. Kinda that feeling.

But yea. Iv tried already to re-connect the cap with fail since i dont have a fine tip iron i just have a huge gun that sucks for small things like this.

Im not sure if i made things worse or not hopefully someone can tell me if the board itself appears damaged:

Sorry for the bad quality im using a 1MP CCD that sucks. Heres a pic of the cap, the pins broke off which is whats making it ultra hard:

Be honest.....is there any hope of reviving it? :(

The card works perfectly fine in 2D without the cap. But when i go to play anything 3D it locks up then crashes with this error:

"Device stuck in driver" The file causing this it says is nv4.dll.

See its still alive!!!!

It works it just doesnt do what it was designed to do and thats play games!!! Its killing me!! :(

Well. I dont think anyone will believe this, i myself am still in shock. Im pretty sure iv killed myself and i am dead now and none of this is real. But i have just seen the impossible.

My 8800GTS, my baby, my life, actually worth more than my life, the meaning OF LIFE, is working.

Not only is it working, its working WITHOUT THE CAPACITOR!! Yes. It has an incomplete circuit and is working fine. I installed the drivers that came with it on the CD (75 somethin, old as hell) and its working. I can now play all my games with full eye candy and it makes me want to do things i cant say on the forum :D

I havent been this happy since i first bought the card long ago.

usually its the tiny little transistors you have to worry about, those usually cause artifacting

So what do you think that capacitor was for then? Cuz i did just get 1 BSOD playing Juiced 2. It was stuttering a little, but was still flying and then it just crashed.

It benced fine though:

Ran ATi Tool to check temps and im not 100% sure but this doesnt look good.....

Its ideling around 69c. Which i think is normal. I stopped it cuz i wasnt sure if it was ok to go past 80c....

Idling around 69*C is a bit odd.

80*C is fine though, a lot of cards run that hot under load. When it's near 100 i guess you should worry a bit.
