Please help me with my computer fan!

I have a Dell Inspiron 1525 that's about a year old. For as long as I've owned it, the fan has run almost continually. At first, I thought it was just normal because I've never owned a Dell laptop before. But, my sister has a Dell laptop and I've now talked to many other people who own Dell laptops and they do not have the same problem.

In trying to research this, I've found a couple of suggestions but I just don't know enough to know whether they are the right things to do or not. One suggestion is to update the BIOS - but some people say that that could screw up other things even if it fixes the fan. I've also heard that I need to clean out the fan with compressed air - but I don't know where to spray the air and I don't want to mess anything else up.

Can anyone please help? The fan is driving me crazy!!!

Try the compressed air. Shoot some in the vents, and, ideally, it shoot out of of another exhaust area. If that doesn't work, you could try to update the BIOS, but I'm not sure what that would really solve with the fan. See if you can run a temperature program to see what the temps are. maybe the whole laptop needs sprayed out with compressed air.
